Q. Where can I find a book?

Books at Northumbria University Library are shelved on all floors of all library locations according to Dewey Decimal Classification. This classification system ensures that you will find books on related subjects grouped together. On each floor, you will find a guide to the Dewey numbers shelved on that floor. Further, each shelving unit will be signed to show the Dewey numbers of the books shelved in that unit.

You can use Library Search to search for a book title and search results show the library in which a book is located, the floor where it's shelved, and the book's specific Dewey Decimal shelf-number. If the book you need is on loan, its status will show a due date; you can place a reservation on it by signing into your Library Search account.
