Q. When EndNote inserts et al. into a citation it doesn’t display in italics. How do I change this?

You will need to edit the actual style you are using:

• Make sure the correct style is showing in the style window at the top of your EndNote library.
• Click Edit – Output Styles – Edit “…….”
• Choose Author Lists from the panel on the left and tick the box next to et al.     
• Click File – Save As. You can either leave the style name as displayed or give it a new name.
• Click Save.
