Can I look at PhD theses?

There are several resources you can use to search for, and read, PhD theses.

The Northumbria Research Link (NRL) has a good coverage of Northumbria University digitised theses from 2008 to present. Earlier printed theses housed in the Library can be found via Library Search. Please contact Ask4Help to request printed theses. From September 2015, the Library no longer retains printed copies; digital copies are available from the NRL.

EThOS, the British Library's Online Thesis Service is an excellent resource for British theses. You can find further information and a video guide to using EThOS from the Collections section of the Library's Information for Researchers pages.

EThOS and further resources can be accessed via Library Search, using the Theses and Dissertations Subject Resources list. Individual databases can also be found using the A-Z list of databases.

Reviewing theses is an excellent way to become familiar with style and format, however you should ensure that you consult your Faculty, Graduate School and supervisor for any particular requirements for your own thesis.
